Common questions about Aberdeen North Test Centre

Aberdeen North Test Centre has a pass rate of 43.1%. The national average is 48.7%.

You can book your driving test online at gov.uk/book-driving-test. You'll need your provisional licence number, theory test pass certificate number, and a debit/credit card. The test costs £62 on weekdays or £75 on evenings/weekends.

The DVSA no longer publishes official test routes. However, examiners will typically use a variety of road types including residential streets, main roads, and roundabouts in the local area.

Parking availability varies. We recommend arriving early to find suitable parking nearby.

Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled test time. This allows you to check in, calm your nerves, and be ready when the examiner calls your name. If you arrive late, your test may be cancelled and you'll lose your fee.

The driving test lasts about 40 minutes. This includes an eyesight check, 'show me, tell me' questions, and around 40 minutes of driving. You'll also do one reversing manoeuvre and may be asked to do an emergency stop.

You must bring your UK provisional driving licence (photocard). If you have the old-style paper licence, you'll also need a valid passport. The car you're using must have valid insurance, MOT (if needed), and proper L plates.

If you fail, the examiner will explain what went wrong and give you a written fault summary. You can book another test immediately, but you'll need to wait at least 10 working days before taking it. Use this time to practise the areas you struggled with.
